A Place To Exist
We at A Place To Exist try to keep things simple. As such, we focus our energy on two things.
Edible Landscapes
Making a piece of land, or a simple yard more attractive by altering the existing design and adding ornamental features such as trees, shrubs, and flowers doesn't have to only add beauty. We believe that the shift to more sustainable landscapes - to Edible Landscapes - is not only beneficial for the landowner, but essential for genetic diversity, food stability, and overall flourishing.
Eco-System Management
An approach to natural resource management that attempts to ensure long-term sustainability and persistence of an Eco-System while meeting the existing and future needs of the residents. Whether its improving the overall health of a grazing field, designing a food forest, or making your local park more beneficial to the local flora/fauna, we believe that managing the existing Eco-Systems and increasing their utility for all life is essential for the management of the earth.
Our Mission
Our mission is to assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of edible landscapes and Eco-Systems in low income communities, thrid world countries, and low opportunity communities across the world to secure a sustainable food source for the local communities for decades to come.
A Place To Exist attempts to uphold the three pillars of sustainability - Environmental Protection, Social Equity, and Economic Viability - In our Edible Landscape and Eco-System Design, Implementation, and Management.
Primarily focusing on lower income or impoverished households, we attempt to create opportunities for people in need to stabilize their food source, and improve their long term sustainability.
The Three Pillars Of Sustainability
Environment Protection
Compliance To Local Jurisdiction
Biodiversity
Water/Chemical Cycle Management
Social Equity
Outreach Programs
Equal Opportunities For Low Income Areas
Community Events
Economic Viability
Consistent Profitable Growth
Food Market Stabilization
Risk Management For Large Scale Eco-Systems
Things Mix, And That's Good
These three pillars will always have some overlap that can be divided further into 3 categories:
Socio-Environmental, Socio-Economic, and Enviro-Economic.
We believe that overlap is where the strength of these pillars lie. Thus, this is where A Place To Exist focuses most of our energy.
Socio-Environmental
Community Garden Creation
Legislation
Public Awareness
Public Education
Socio-Economic
Training And Development
Employment
Local Market Instantiation

Balancing Environmental Strains
All these things combined lead to sustainability.
